In the whirlwind of Winter Party events, visitors from out of town and the distractions of the week, it's good to get a little sanity today. I was at the Diocesan Acolyte Festival. I volunteered to do two storytelling workshops for the 3rd grade and under group. In all had about 45 kids and a few adults attend my workshop. The story I told was "Hope for the Flowers" by Trina Paulus. I first read it in 1981 and it's been told to many children and adults over the years. Today was a bit significant because it seemed to speak to me again. Hope and optimism is always a good thing.
The day refocused me. Interacting with the kids and running into some familiar faces from the past reminded me of the lives one touches without knowing of the effects. I was surprised and glad to hear of the positive things I have done without really trying or knowing.....it was all just part of what I do naturally. You do what is right and true, then move on.
Tonight is the 40's Birthday's Wine Tasting Party. It will be a nice evening. The hostess did get a DJ and I'll be bringing some "lounge music". Will blog about it if it is more interesting. Sunday will be a little madness. It is the Winter Party Beach Event. Friends are attending, but most likely will meet up with them after the event. Have things to do during the day. Hopefully meet up with the Jonnies and Fadel.
Am glad to hear that some of the people that have been having medical issues are doing a little better. They remain on my prayer list.
Until later, remember 'We can fly! We can become butterflies!"
