Event Full weekend. Friday Mr. S and I are going to a birthday party for one of his friends early in the evening, then head to the mainland to have dinner with "my girls" and other friends for Carlely's and Poneh's birthday. It will be at "Pueblito Viejo" (a Columbian restaurant with live music). I'm sure it will be fun.
Provincetown Jerry is in town with some of her friends from Provincetown and Austin, so we are meeting up at the Palace on Saturday with some of our local crew. I am looking forward to seeing her. If there is time and we are up to it, we might go to the Florida Gay Men's Chorus concert at All Soul's Episcopal Church Hall at 8:00 pm (www.miamigaychorus.org). They will be doing a Cabaret style evening of standards called 'The Night They Invented Champagne".
Sunday is the Aids Walk Miami (www.aidswalkmiami.org). Mr. S, Tara, and I are participating and I'm sure we will see people we know. Registration is open. If you decide to register the day of the event, you will need to give a minimum donation of $25.00 to participate. Some of the local bars, clubs and organizations will be volunteering along the route for support and supply water for participants.
Later in the day, I have a meeting at "Taverna Opa" (Hollywood Beach) regarding the Diocesan Acolyte Festival, Youth Convention and some future events. Not sure how that will go, since it does get loud in there. Afterwards, Mr. S. and I are planning a quiet evening to round off the weekend.
Hope all of you have a great weekend. Come out and join us at the Aids Walk if you can. Donations are being accepted online and at the event.
