Spring Cleaning and a Ripe Mango

Mom is off to the Diocesan Episcopal Church Women's Convention this weekend, so that means I have to stay home and take care of Irma's medications, feeding, and changing for the next two days. While Mom is gone, I am in my frenzy of Spring Cleaning to keep busy. I really need people out of my way when I get in this mode.

I have already gone through the big shed in the back. For those that do not know, the big shed is built out of concrete with a foundation and electricity. (We are a family of pack rats.) I threw away lots of old elementary, high school and college notebooks and papers, a large collection of old newspapers and bills/statements (shredded), assorted knick knacks and just plain junk. I did find my astronaut GI Joe (missing a left foot), Battle Armour He-Man, The Flying Nun and Osmond's lunch boxes and other assorted games, dolls/action figures and toys. (They get to stay). I packed up and gave away four large trash bags of old clothes and shoes. I gave Mr. S a Bionic Woman book and he was surprised and happy.

My little sis will be here part of the time. I will then be able to get away and see Mr. S and his best friend, Nancy. (She is visiting from New Jersey and came down to see him and check me out.) We are going to get together on Saturday.

The mango tree has made a recovery. It is/was Dad's pride and joy. Last year it was still in shock after the hurricane damage, but this year it is bearing fruit. The fruit is not as large as in previous years, but it is better than nothing. They are still sweet and ripen quickly. Stephanie was here during the week, so we picked some of the ripe ones.

It's supposed to be in the 80's here this weekend. Maybe we'll hit a movie to stay cool. Enjoy your weekend!
